WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

Thanks,

Paul...

MaecHoppe.  I'm UK based & still on 2004 so normal patch Tuesday I pick up next day first thing in morning so assume mid period releases assume would also be likewise. This year KB4023057 has come thru' on 3 occasions - 22nd January, 20th February & 29th April these showing in update history. Most WUD's seem to be detailed as applying to both 2004 & 20H2 so would expect us to read the same dates. MS 'This update includes reliability improvements to Windows Update Service components in Windows 10' don't seem to be working but all MS Security Update Guide KBs are coming through OK (history shows they are OK & installed). Somewhere along the line MS has fed us a dud so is this why they feel the need to issue KB4023057 3 times in 4 months, normally you would say 3rd time lucky but they can't even get that right.

Did so yesterday without signing in, so I don't have any idea where it went (URL).  Had to use "other" since "Windows update" is not listed as a problem area.

I'm trying to submit to the Feedback Hub right now but it's stuck on "Please Wait We're Checking on a Few Things".  I have tried to open the feedback hub while Waas was running but it wouldn't open.  Asking our systems to do another task while they are being bogged down by Waas is a bit unreasonable . It's a bit early to call your post an "Answer" don't you think? Anyway the Feedback Hub is still stuck going around in circles. I'll let it run for a while longer but then I'm out. EDIT: Wait a minute your post was from March 16th. Where have you been since then ?

So here's where your "Feedback Hub is at....."Checking on Things" but no Disk Activity and No Network Activity. So what is it doing ? It's still stuck so I'm out. God Windows is frustrating.
