WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    This is from today's Waas Medic run. Actually 10 minutes although it only shows 9 minutes elapsed. It's from an i7 8700K system that is 6 core 12 thread and turbos at 4.7 GHz with 16 gigs of ram but still has a HDD. Ten minutes grinding away at 100% for NOTHING.

    @MarcHoppe absolutely shocking resource drain you show there. They pushed this W10 cr*p onto very limited spec computers as I keep saying.

    Another huge issue, millions of computers all running this power hungry rubbish are belting out extra heat, what's the carbon footprint? MS need to urgently review what their OS is doing in relation to power consumption.

    So I got a new laptop. Well I didn't actually buy a new laptop I just installed Kubuntu Linux on my old one and it runs like new. So much faster and more responsive than Winblows 10 21H1 and Linux doesn't spend all day grinding away at my hard drive. On the day I did the installation I booted Winblows 10 for one last time and WaaS medic ran at 100% disk longer than it took me to download the 2.7GB Linux .iso on my Kubuntu desktop system and then burn that .iso to USB to create the installation media. WaaS was STILL grinding away. That was it I had enough and overwrote Winblows and now I have a fast, elegant, and privacy respecting Operating System instead of a data collection system that is only designed to wear my computer out. Then I began to wonder maybe that's Microsoft's plan. Get people to stop using Windows 10 on older systems so they don't have to support them (not that M$ ever gave ANY support at all) and it will save them a ton of bandwidth every update Tuesday. They've already got our money so what's to lose? On my studio system WaaS tried to run again yesterday even though it ran for ten minutes on Sunday. I just did an end task which is what I'll have to do every time it tries to runs I guess. WaaS Medic is nothing more than Malware intentionally created by M$ to wear out older systems. If M$ didn't have enough money to buy every lawyer in the world I'd say a Class Action Lawsuit would be in order but consumers can't fight a corporation as big as M$.

    WaasMedic agent is an absolute nightmare for smaller laptops. Everything stops, needs a fix
