WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    Inititally we got some relief by turning WaasMedicAgent off in Task Scheduler. Then MS implemented spyware that simply turned it back on if it was found to be off. Apparently that didn't allow WaasMedicAgent and its "spawn" to run as often as MS wanted.

    Yesterday I discovered that MS had added a new user account to my machine - one which I as administrator was never consulted about - so that I, as administrator, could not remove, disable, or modify the WaasMedicAgent task. I haven't checked, but I'll bet this new user / security principal has taken ownership and control of many other tasks and registry keys that we have previously used to protect ourselves from MS intrusive "User Experience", "App Compatibility" and "user protection and security" user-abuse-ware and spyware.

    What a complete F-ING **** show this is! This WaaSMedicAgent c**p has hogged one of my computers since I booted it up for at least 20 minutes so far.

    MICROSOFT!!!! You absolutely CANNOT run stuff like this when the user is trying to use the computer! You MUST REMEMBER what level of computer hardware that YOU pushed Windows 10 onto that were previously running 7 or 8. Many do NOT have SSD's. You simply cannot take over the system with 100% disk usage like this while it is in use. Same goes for Windows Updates scanning. DO NOT run it when the computer has just booted and the user is trying to open applications. This is basic stuff, even a 5yo can understand why I'm saying this.

    Windows 10 is a total disgrace in many regards. SORT IT OUT, what a completely unnecessary productivity killer this is. You should have your employees working 24/7 shift to urgently address this level of utter shocking software.

    Update: Now that's finished, you've decided to start running CompatTelRunner.exe, ANOTHER F-ING disk hogging performance killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **** are you on Microsoft? You have lost the plot, your OS literally fights the user for system resources! All completely UNNECESSARY.

    I am UK based, we have various consumer protection laws covering the purchase of goods & services. One of the main requirements is that these should be FIT FOR THE PURPOSE. I don't think Microsoft Windows 10 meets this criteria, are they leaving themselves open to prosecution ?. No doubt MS think they are bigger than having to meet any legal requirements - as they say 'the bigger they are, the heavier they fall', I can see their share of the market falling if they don't address this issue - eight months on & they have not even acknowledged that their is an issue. Does this mean they know what it is and it is an MS designed in feature?
