WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

Barry StephenNieuport. You mention in your post, searching in Explorer. It worked OK until a couple of years ago when MS updated the way it works which appeared to be taking a number of steps backwards. There were various numerous threads where a large number of users were totally unable to search at all after the update, those like me could still search, pre update you could set your criteria prior to searching, now you have to do a search on anything before the criteria selection is available. This now contains a lot less pre-defined criteria choices than before. According to MS, this was what people wanted  - oh really. I think this example shows the contempt MS show towards us users, apparently the Insiders tested the pre-release and reported back that is not work properly - don't release until issues are solved - what did MS do - they released it and it definitely had problems. Why get the Insiders to test so as to avoid issues and then totally ignore their findings - here again the basis of this thread and others out there is being totally ignored by MS - I bet if the developers had to actually use this OS in the real world instead of  just theory, things would probably improve considerably.

My problem is that this program is NOT the only one. Compattelrunner is another. In the Task Manager most of the intensive Disk Drive activity just says "system". Microsoft does not want to show how much they are actually doing on your computer. In most cases you can do nothing. Every search I do for some of these programs just echoes Microsoft, "...is a trusted program from Microsoft..." and no other information about it. Then these web sites try to sell you something to "tune" your system, then you end up with more programs running on your computer.

On a regular basis my file associations and other settings are changed. Double click to open a simple graphics file, I mostly use paint.exe, but many mornings I double click on the file and Microsoft Photo Viewer shows the file. If I wanted to just view the file, I would have asked for that.

Time and resources are used by Microsoft to "indexing" and it takes a lot of resources and when you actually search for something on your drive that you KNOW is there somewhere, it takes a very long time. So, why does the computer use resources to index the files to make searching more effective when it still takes far too long to search for something?

No one working for or working with will actually come up with any solutions. I defrag, I tune the drive and registry, I stop some services and trim down the things running and I uninstall software to make the computer run more efficiently. Yet Microsoft keeps intruding onto my computer to undo a lot of what I can do.

As a Content Provider and Live Streamer I cannot be waiting for the game being frozen because some background process decides to run at that specific moment just to check on something that does not need checking. I think it is high time that someone with legal knowledge and money sues Microsoft for the invasive things they do. It is no different than a Home Invasion, or Breaking and Entering. It's time they stop.

I want MY computer back!

Since installing 'NO CHOICE' KB4023057 on 29th had a couple of issues - connected ? . This install updates Microsoft Update Heath Tools with an updated app installed to version 2.77.0.0. Yesterday had bit of an issue on pm boot - apps seemed slow to load likewise task Manager - did not see anything abnormal running in TM. Done a restart - all up & running again. Did notice that Norton 360 was scanning disc for viruses sometimes takes 3-4 minutes instead of normal just over 1 minute. This morning booted as normal, got to desktop, found bottom taskbar completely unresponsive, could not open any apps, Task Manager or even Windows logo, so could not access anything there-in including shutdown etc. Tried Control/Delete which allowed access to Task Manager. WaasMedic running to schedule with other system files loading etc but WaasMedic was swapping top of disc usage with these apps. Managed to stop it, did not solve issue. Had to force shut-down with 5 second push of start button. Rebooted everything working as it should - likewise another 3 boots. Thought I would be clever and delete this update - MS says 'No you won't' as there is no uninstall option. Still slight issue with Norton 360 with 2 of 4 manual scans taking 3 times as normal. So it appears MS intention is to entirely interfere with all non MS apps and virtually disable computers that were OK until 4 months ago when MS lost control of 'UPDATES' and now looks as though there never will be a resolution as their self dug hole is beyond climbing out of.
