WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    I am getting this on all 3 of my PC's an 'Intel i7' (2 yr old) and a 'Ryzen 7' (6 months old which was stated by Crucial on a check that it was the fastest they have seen).

    Then there's my old trusty 10 yr old 'Medion Akoya' which has a 'Samsung 500 SSD' hard drive in as the main 'C' drive with the Old 1TB HDD being utilised internally as a Second Storage Drive. Then there is another removable 1TB 'Medion' Back Up hard drive that slides neatly into a specifically designed bay on the top of the case. So I don't think its just on Older machines as all three are getting this sudden 'Whooah -All Brakes On' lately that so many people are suffering from.

    It doesn't last long I agree but to have it occur at times when its the last thing you want to happen causes great concern for obvious reasons and is driving us nuts.

    Evil thought about this app:

    It is ther to push people to upgread ther Systems. It makes your live wors and wors on older hardware, but on newer it eaven bother you that much and it eaven do not scann the things it scanns on older mashines whitout any SSD.

    If I understand your question, you should be able to delete your older device from your Microsoft Account Devices page. I'm not sure if you can delete the last or only device, but if you can't you might want to close the account instead. To close the account, search Account Help for "close" or "delete".
