WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    The most disturbing part is that Microsoft is obviously aware that this conversation is ongoing, yet all we're getting is radio silence.

    I never considered Linux before, but there's no way I'm sticking around for Windows 11.

    That's because Windows is no longer an Operating System but a data mining and monetization system. They don't care about you or your computers they only care about profits and executive bonuses. Linux even runs on older systems that will grind to a halt with running Winbloats. The choice is obvious. Not one penny more Microsoft, not one penny more.

    Will you buy me four SSDs so I can upgrade the rest of my systems? Because I can't afford to do so. Look if we purchased a computer with Win 10 installed then we paid for a license. We have the reasonable expectation that Win 10 will continue to function on that same system and not do everything it can to make that system obsolete. WaaS and the other components are Microsoft's planned obsolescence program plain and simple. Windows continuously reads thousands of files on our systems not because it's performing any useful function but only to wear out our HDD and to slow our systems down to make it seem like we need to buy new ones. All they are really doing is making me convert more systems to Linux which doesn't spend all day grinding away at the HHD and runs much more efficiently all around.

    Why is an OS reading and writing so much with a user doing absolutely nothing and its a simple desktop system with no data processing? What is it doing? I have spent my life working on Unix machines and they just don't do this. A harddrive wil spin when a user app makes it spin. That's it. The people working at Microsoft have very weird ideas on what an OS should be. My next document editing laptop will without doubt be Apple. I have come with Microsoft since Windows 2.1 but this is it. I'm done.
