WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    I feel your pain too. Hence my very frustrated posts in this thread.

    I have an older HDD laptop that is still perfectly adequate for the applications I run on Windows, the issue is the f*****g Windows 10 OS itself taking over exactly as you say.

    Microsoft AGGRESSIVELY PUSHED this sh***y OS onto devices that are simply NOT CAPABLE of running it, this makes me VERY ANGRY due to the time I've wasted. I've been mislead and continue to pay the penalty.

    My simple work around, remember turn the laptop on at least 15 to 20 minutes before I want to use it. Although you can sign into Windows 10 in about 30 seconds of turning on, really it's still booting up until it finishes all the Windows Update, ComPatTelRunner, WaaSMedicAgent, SuperFetch and whatever else it decides to do to the computer as soon as you log in.

    So all they've created is the ability to log in during the early stages of booting up and you can't do much other than open Notepad until it finishes the thrashing. IMHO boot up is NOT complete until the OS leaves the CPU and HDD/SSD alone.

    Much of this is a very simple task scheduling fix, do not do all this **** as soon as the user logs in!

    This. ONE HUNDRED BILLION TIMES THIS.

    There's no winning from Microsoft so I caved and swapped all mechanical harddrives for SSD's to prevent my computers from grinding to a complete stop for dozens of minutes. I can't express the frustration this has caused me without going on a full on rant with swearwords not suitable for anyone under 30 or over 60...

    So far the SSD trick is the only one that I ever found that actually works against Windows trashing your harddisk for minutes on end.

    The only thing that works, FOR NOW.

    Waas, windows as a service? medic, something to configure my machine the way they want it or to collect missing telemetry or files? Dunno just my take on this issue

    You do know that Windows 11 REQUIRES you to be logged in to a Microsloth account in order to INSTALL AND USE Windows 11. If you do not log into your MS account, you can only use apps from the MS store ("S-mode"). The "SAS" (Software as Service) portions of the OS that are needed to load and run non- MS store apps will not download / execute so you WILL NOT be able to use anything on your system that is not downloadable / executable from the MS Store.

    This was why MS spent so much time spying on our systems with WaasMedic, and "user experience" spyware: to find out how to parcel out OS modules to run ONLY MS store apps from those that run 3rd party applications. That way the apps could be coded to run in MS Edge, and only those things that run in Edge would be allowed when not logged into an MS account.

    Enjoy your Windows 11 "permanent suckling on the MS teat" OS. I have made my last Windows OS update. No OS that requires permanent internet access and connection to a data spyware / privacy violating / personal data theft company will ever find its way on to ANY of my devices.
