WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

Thanks,

Paul...

To anyone from Microsoft -- please respond. I've also been having the same problem being reported here (and I would assume many other users as well) -- WaaSMedicAgent.exe taking 100% disk usage for about 20-30 minutes after starting up my system every morning, rendering the computer virtually useless. I am running Win 10 Pro 20H2 as well.

I have no idea if it will help you and the others, however I just got through figuring out what it was doing while causing the high disk usage. Turns out WaasAgent was doing something on a standalone hard drive despite the performance tab saying my primary disk (C & D) was using 100%. After disconnecting the standalone drive the agent stopped using so much disk and everything returned to normal. I Only figured this out after going to task manager, performance tab then opening resource monitor and looked at what was using the highest read usage, which was the Waas, but it showed it was doing things on the standalone quite excessively.

If you have a removable/standalone drive disconnecting it might fix the problem till it starts up again. Not sure why its doing that but it might be a start to figuring out what is going on.

For one hour, I watched WaasMedic Agent Exe using system resources to the point my computer was completely unusable.

Edge would not even start ... and that was with quick start activated.

I don't know what Microsoft is doing to us but from what I can see it is cutting productivity by 65%.

For one hour this is what I was faced with:

    WaasMedic Agent Exe

    62% Memory

    48% Disk

Power Usage from moderate to Very High

I want this app/service removed or at least restrained. I cannot afford to wait for an hour everyday to start working!
