WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    Thanks for the link, that's very enlightening. Yes I have a lot of small files on my studio computer mostly .wav files called samples and plugin presets usually in .fxp format. I noticed that WaaS is reading those files. The thing is I have all my song files on that computer that I have worked on for years. I'd be really pissed off if M$ is stealing my intellectual property.

    I agree completely with your feelings regarding MS stealing .pdfs to open in Edge.
    I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "Microsoft Photo Viewer"
    The Windows Photo Viewer was removed in windows 10 and replaced with their horrid "Photo" app.
    I found a script on the web however that will restore the wonderful windows photo viewer from windows 7 so that it works in 10

    This is the same issue. MicroStupid is deciding what programs to run or not. Adobe is not dead, it still runs, it still has uses, but it is the support from MicroStupid that is ending. IE: They do not want it in Windows, do not want it in MicroStupid Edge. . . . .

    MicroStupid dictates to the customers what will work and what will not. I still use PDF files and open them with Adobe and I see no reason to stop doing that. MicroStupid needs to stop changing my settings so that a PDF file is opened with MicroStupid Edge instead of Adobe. They also change my settings to use Photo Viewer. If I want to VIEW the file, I would ask for it or look at the large icon in the file explorer.

    Remove MicroStupid Sledge

    Remove MicroStupid PhotoLoser

    or?

    Perhaps we need to Remove MicroStupid.

    I'm still on 2004 - had this Flash Removal auto installed mid February this year. WassMedic issue started before than - first posting beginning January so not connected.
