Latest Windows 10 iso file too large for DVD!

I downloaded the media creation tool for 20H2 Windows 10 version. Requested 64 bit version ONLY.

ISO file is over 4.7GB, does not fit on DVD. What should I do? I DO NOT want to mess with dual layer,

blue ray, or flash drives. Never had this problem before, seems like a glitch in the tool perhaps,

it does not compress the file properly?

This one works! Just burned it to DVD. So, this should resolve all the media format woes posted here? :)

Be sure to choose the second option to create media installation, unless you want to update directly.

    Hello Again,

    "I.E. You can now replace the install.esd in the ISO with the preferred image and this will be small enough to write on a DVD! Windows' tools do not allow writing to the ISO to do this, so this requires use of another tool to do the rest. I used the free DVD authoring tool "Any Burn" it is available here : https://www.anyburn.com/download.php I opened the Windows.ISO in the Any Burn software, and explored the files. I deleted the existing \sources\install.esd and replaced it with the one with the preferred image as described above. Then I burned the DVD and everything else went as expected. "

    I decided to give this a try just to see if I could do it :) However, after installing this program I am unable to determine how to open the ISO or 'explore' the files. I did get the smaller size .esd file using your instructions but am unable to put it in the ISO. So, can you be more specific on the options you chose in this program Anyburn, to accomplish the move or replacing the original .esd file? Thanks again!

    Yes, indeed. I'm the original poster. And I accept this as a solution. The 21H2 64 bit does fit on a single layer DVD like it's supposed to.

    I really hope they-Microsoft keeps this up. So all that nagging and complaining paid off after all. The wheel that squeaks.....

    Hi Nathan T, This is a very informative post you have created. I plan to keep a copy of it and maybe give it a try soon. I hope this will be helpful to lacrumb  more than my self. I have the install files on a thumb drive as indicated by Microsoft. Thanks again! :)
