xbox series x controller via bluetooth not recognized in games

Following the advice of another user I have installed Intel's bluetooth drivers v21.110.0.3 and, at last, it works. It was the only option left to apply and the one that I was reluctant to use. I was hoping that the incompatibility problem of the latest Intel drivers with the controller's bluetooth would be solved. But a month later I have given up. It already works with the COD games and hopefully with Cyberpunk.

I'm glad it's working for you, playing with the controller is going to fun.

I guess the xbox wireless controller works with intel bluetooth driver 21.110.0.3.

I also posted my bluetooth driver 21.110.0.3 on the November 20 to you, maybe you just missed it :)

Here is my comment on Nov 2020:

My machine has "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " driver 21.110.0.3 installed and works.

However, there is a glitch with mine,  a lot of times when launching some games at the start, bluetooth will not respond.

So i go into Bluetooth setting remove the Xbox wireless Controller 987********" then on the controller hold down the Bluetooth button for 5 secs then add an discover the Bluetooth controller in Bluetooth again. I go back into the game and it works.

1. Go to "Control Panel".
2. "Add devices and printers".
3. Press the sync button on the rear for 5 seconds on the Xbox controller.
4. Click on “Add a device”.
5. Follow the on screen instructions.

Troubleshooting:

If it fails, go back to your devices and make sure that it isnt already connected. If it is, right-click and remove device. Then proceed to step 3.

check MS update KB 4580364 is installed on your system.

In theory it should work on the latest driver.

A stab in the dark perhaps, you could try  installing "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " driver 21.110.0.3 if none of the above works.

I fixed this by restarting my PC.

That said though, still unable to use my controller in a majority of games in bluetooth. I'm at the point where I think I'm just gonna sell it and get an Xbox One controller again, because I at least know that works.

if you have Intel bluetooth.  Install intel bluetooth driver 21.110.0.3 it worked for DS y as he found out.

Thank you DumDum. I'm sorry I didn't remember that it was you who published the solution. I always had this step in mind as a possible last resort, and I was hoping I wouldn't have to apply it. I trusted Microsoft to solve it but time was passing by and I decided to go for it.

I also noticed the glitch when launching a game, but it reconnected in a second without doing anything until, after an hour or so, I've got a low battery warning. I had to plug the cable because the controller was unmanageable.

Tomorrow I will try with a previous "play and charge" kit's battery and see if it happens again. Also, I have a tester and I will check the "old" batteries' condition. I will keep you informed.

I get same glitch sometimes launching games, i make sure the xbox controller is turned on before the game is launched or i think sometimes on some games. I started the controller on the game menu, power on the controller then starting tapping button on moving the joystick to try to make it work after a few seconds it works. If that does not work i restart the game.

I don't know maybe the more you use on games on bluetooth it works out too be more reliable or something? After that you will no longer need to plug it through the cable unless there is a new firmware update with major fixes.

I ignore the battery level low message because i think that is a glitch too, i am able to carry on playing games.

While Bluetooth had something to do with it, I'm beginning to think there may be another issue with the way the controller is powered.

With the cable the power flow is constant. I have tried with the battery of a "play and charge" kit ( more or less two years old) and the experience has been negative: lag, glitchy, unresponsive... I have also tried with an old pair of rechargeable batteries (Apple) and the experience has been better but: I had to change the sensitivity of the sticks as the general feeling was to go a little slower, maybe a bit of lag. Compared to the cable, the game was more... heavy... After a while I had to go back to the cable because it could be decisive in a gunfight... :)

Yesterday I was playing fine with the batteries that came with the controller. But after a while I got the low battery warning and became a bit slow again. I used a tester and the voltage level was 1.45 of 1.5, so they still have quite a lot of life left.

With that so many different sensations in different scenarios, I would say that either my controller is defective (and that may be the reason why several users report that it works well for them) or it needs a firmware update to better manage the battery charge, perhaps related to the bluetooth LE.

Of course it's just my perception, but let's see if any other user can practice this kind of tests (with intel bluetooth driver v21.110.0.3), to request a controller replacement or wait for some kind of update from Microsoft.
