xbox series x controller via bluetooth not recognized in games

Have BT 5.0, "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " 22.0.0.2 (latest) and have installed and uninstalled the drivers several times, both the bluetooth and the controller ones. But I agree that it could be related to the new "Bluetooth LE XINPUT compatible input device" (year 2020) or the old "Xbox wireless Controller 987********" (year 2006).

My controller suffers from random microcuts even if not connected to any game platform.

Drivers associated with the controller via BT (the first two from 2020 and the rest from 2006)

Drivers associated with the controller via USB (the first from 2006 and the rest from 2020)

My machine has "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " driver 21.110.0.3 installed and works.

However, there is a glitch with mine,  a lot of times when launching some games at the start, bluetooth will not respond.

So i go into Bluetooth setting remove the Xbox wireless Controller 987********" then on the controller hold down the Bluetooth button for 5 secs then add an discover the Bluetooth controller in Bluetooth again. I go back into the game and it works.

1. Go to "Control Panel".
2. "Add devices and printers".
3. Press the sync button on the rear for 5 seconds on the Xbox controller.
4. Click on “Add a device”.
5. Follow the on screen instructions.

Troubleshooting:

If it fails, go back to your devices and make sure that it isnt already connected. If it is, right-click and remove device. Then proceed to step 3.

check MS update KB 4580364 is installed on your system.

In theory it should work on the latest driver.

A stab in the dark perhaps, you could try  installing "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " driver 21.110.0.3 if none of the above works.

I think Microsoft needs another update to fix this Bluetooth issue with Bluetooth drivers.

I do not want to be removing and discovering the Xbox wireless Controller launching on games. I want it to work at the start when i power up Bluetooth on the Xbox wireless Controller.

Thanks DumDumtech, I've tried all of your recommendations but the disconnections are still happening. I agree with you: MS has to keep on working on the drivers. 11 days since the release and counting.

So any solutions? I installed the latest Windows Update, updated the xbox accessories app and my bluetooth driver is up to date. I connected another bluetooth device and it works so my bluetooth is not the issue.  It looks like the xbox series X conttoller is paired when I look a the bluetooth windows interface as an Xbox wireless controller but the connection is not constant. I see the device going from paired to connected to paired again. The controller xbox logo will stop blinking for a couple of seconds and start blinking again. The controller works when connected with usb-c...

i think the new Xbox wireless controller is  unreliable, glitchy and have flaws not supported everyones  bluetooth devices. Microsoft definitely need another firmware update on the controller to fix it.

This is just punting in the dark for a solution until Microsoft releases a new update, is to reinstall your bluetooth.

Go to "Control Panel, Add devices and printers, select the controller then troubleshoot it.

If that does not work, remove/uninstall your bluetooth hardware in device manager but take a note of the bluetooth drivers make and name first, restart your PC. Install latest bluetooth drivers again.

If you are running "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " install driver 21.110.0.3, the same as my laptop bluetooth which works on most games.

Open xbox accessories app and connect with USB-C then pair the xbox controller as your first device.

Disconnect the cable and try bluetooth on a game.
