Thanks DumDumtech, I've tried all of your recommendations but the disconnections are still happening. I agree with you: MS has to keep on working on the drivers. 11 days since the release and counting.
xbox series x controller via bluetooth not recognized in games
I bought an xbox series x controller (not xbox one) from someone who had an elite and don't need the new controller. I'm sure it's authentic. I can connect it to my windows 10 pc via bluetooth and it appears as an xbox wireless controller.
However in all games it is not recognized as an xbox controller but a generic bluetooth "18 (don't remember the exact number) button controller with HAT" or something. And it doesn't work in any of my games.
Is this a known issue or did I do something wrong? It feels like either the controller is so new windows doesn't know it yet, or I'm missing a driver software, or games need to specifically support it. Anyone has similar experience? Thank you!

Edit: on 11/10/2020 MS updated its Xbox Accessories app which adds Xbox Series X/S controller bluetooth support. All you need to do is to connect the controller with a USB-C cable, open the app, go through a rather lengthy update, and now the controller connected via bluetooth is working perfectly.

2020-11-21T12:02:26+00:00 There is a weird glitch happening with my xbox controller and bluetooth, a lot of times when launching some games at the start, bluetooth will not respond or no actions in the game is carried out.
I have go into Bluetooth setting remove the Xbox wireless Controller 987********" then on the controller hold down the Bluetooth button for 5 secs then add wireless controller in Bluetooth again. Then I go back into the game and it works.
I think Microsoft needs another update to fix this Bluetooth issue with Bluetooth drivers.
I do not want to be removing and discovering the Xbox wireless Controller launching on games. I want it to work at the start when i power up Bluetooth on the Xbox wireless Controller.

2020-11-20T20:35:43+00:00 Have BT 5.0, "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) " 22.0.0.2 (latest) and have installed and uninstalled the drivers several times, both the bluetooth and the controller ones. But I agree that it could be related to the new "Bluetooth LE XINPUT compatible input device" (year 2020) or the old "Xbox wireless Controller 987********" (year 2006).
My controller suffers from random microcuts even if not connected to any game platform.
Drivers associated with the controller via BT (the first two from 2020 and the rest from 2006)
Drivers associated with the controller via USB (the first from 2006 and the rest from 2020)

2020-11-20T19:37:44+00:00 I think to me things are pointing towards the bluetooth device if you have one built in your PC.
Can you connect any bluetooth device to your PC other the wireless controller e.g. bluetooth mouse, ear buds etc?
If you have bluetooth, make sure it above bluetooth version 4.0.
I would check by typing in windows search Computer Management, expand on Bluetooth, uninstall anything the xbox wireless Controller if it is there. Then find out your Bluetooth device make you are using e.g. my one Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth (R) - yours might be something else. Then download the latest Bluetooth drivers for it.
Uninstall Bluetooth in add/remove programs then install the latest Bluetooth drivers
Good luck!

2020-11-20T10:09:09+00:00 I have the system up to date to the levels you indicate: controller, operating system, xbox application... From what I understand, if the platform is at the indicated level, from Microft it is suggested that the problem is on the game platform to which you connect? With COD: warzone nor COD:black Ops Cod War the controller doesn't work via bluetooth. Should I be the one to claim it to Blizzard and to each one of the studios? It has been 10 days since I received it and the problem still persists.
Some other user has commented in the forum that has solved the problem by installing, through the Windows Insider program, an update that is in the development channel, without any game provider applying any measure. How true is this information? Will any update be released, by Microsoft and soon, of any of the components of the xbox platform for PC?
