xbox series x controller via bluetooth not recognized in games

The issue to me is that there is not a full Xbox Series X controller driver for bluetooth.  That means everything after that will be a rigged system that does not have the same level of support.  The whole thing is a bit of a bait and switch then, as the bluetooth is not fully supported.

The only reason I bought the controller was to get full windows integration on every app.  If that only works with the wireless dongle they sell...then I wouldn't have bought the thing.  It sounds like right now that is the case.

So does it work on bluetooth...the answer is sort of.  That means it shouldn't be listed as supporting it.  It is a downgraded support from cabled connection and at this time that is just nuts.

Right now I cannot sit 2 feet away from my bluetooth and play the same way I can cabled.  I have to jump through hoops and deal with all sorts of configuration issues....which is exactly what people using this controller rather than a generic are trying to avoid.

Give us a full xbox series x controller driver on bluetooth, or remove the labeling that says the series x controller supports bluetooth.  It doesn't.  It supports a generic emulation using a substandard driver.

I found the solution, you need to connect with the cable and update to the new firmware.

You can do this with the Xbox Accessories microsoft store application.

After that, I removed the previous bluetooth connection and added it again and worked correctly.

Nope, this is the only BT device.

I agree. I think the issue is likely to be that the controller is so new Windows hasn't fully supported it, which is a shame because it's their own device! But since the wireless adapter is the same old one, Windows should have no problem recognizing it, regardless of what controller is connected. Still I prefer the simplest setup and hoped to avoid buying the wireless adapter. I never suspected MS's own product won't work on their own OS.

I did everything (updates bluetooth, windows, controller drivers), got a bluetooth 5.0 and still same problem 3nd day i was fighiting with this issue. Works perfectly when I use USC-C cable, so it must be something with drivers. Guess we need to wait couple days...

Hi! Thanks for the info. I have the latest windows 10 update. The only update I did not install was the optional preview. I should give it a try.

Most of your tips are about bluetooth connection. I have no problem with bluetooth connection; it is recognized by Windows. My problem is the controller is not recognized by games.

In the mean time, do you know where I can find xbox series x controller drivers? I can't find it anywhere. Given it's a MS product I thought the latest drivers must be included in Windows' online updates.
