advanced power options and csenabled

Hi

Advanced power options went missing after the last update. No processor options, usb, gpu power, etc. The usual fix of CSEnabled in regedit is no longer there. The fan speed is out of control even with the slider bar set to better battery. Any help would be appreciated.  thanks

Hi All,

I too was fed up with this issue getting nowhere online.

I created a short script that will change req items to allow for advanced options to be displayed.

$sting77 = "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings"<br><br>$querylist =  reg query $sting77<br><br>foreach ($regfolder in $querylist){<br><br>    <br><br>    $active = $regfolder -replace "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" , "HKLM:"<br><br>    <br><br>    Get-ItemProperty -Path $active<br><br>    Set-ItemProperty -Path "$active" -Name "Attributes" -Value '2'<br><br>    <br><br>    }

Run this in an Elevated Powershell ISE and it should fix it straight away as mine are now showing:

    I have tried all the available information to try to restore the power options.

    using 

    powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

    powercfg -setactive e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

    etc.

    I got the High Performance plan to show up for 2 minutes and then it disappeared.

    For me I need the USB options as I have monitors powered thru USB connection and they always have to reconnect every time my computer wakes.  When the USB monitor shuts down, all of the active app windows move back to the main monitor.  So I have to wait for the monitor to connect and then move all the app windows back to where they were...very annoying

    Actually this way only adds visible options to processor power management.

    They are unable to reduce actual power to processor.

    If anyone knows any solution please reply.

    To change the actual power of the processor you need to use: ThrottleStop or Afterburner

    My previous post on page 1 has the Windows official power scheme files with the CsEabled fix and is the only method that actually works!
