advanced power options and csenabled

Hi

Advanced power options went missing after the last update. No processor options, usb, gpu power, etc. The usual fix of CSEnabled in regedit is no longer there. The fan speed is out of control even with the slider bar set to better battery. Any help would be appreciated.  thanks

Hi All,

I too was fed up with this issue getting nowhere online.

I created a short script that will change req items to allow for advanced options to be displayed.

$sting77 = "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings"<br><br>$querylist =  reg query $sting77<br><br>foreach ($regfolder in $querylist){<br><br>    <br><br>    $active = $regfolder -replace "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" , "HKLM:"<br><br>    <br><br>    Get-ItemProperty -Path $active<br><br>    Set-ItemProperty -Path "$active" -Name "Attributes" -Value '2'<br><br>    <br><br>    }

Run this in an Elevated Powershell ISE and it should fix it straight away as mine are now showing:

    This does not work.  They have been totally removed except for  "Balanced".  So how can this "Show" something that no longer exists?

    If this happens then you probably have a registry file glitch, type this command prompt: powercfg -restoredefaultschemes to restore win-default scheme and now import the power saver or high-performance plans back again this should resolve it but if not try Troubleshooter.

    How to import power plan schemes:

    1. Go to my youtube video and download the Revolutions zip file from http://youtu.be/ME\_2EkOgNfM
    2. Open the Scheme folder and click on power saver or high-performance plans (Green battery icon) files.
    3. A message will appear successfully imported, now check to see if the new power plan scheme is visible.

    My previous post on page 1 has the Windows official power scheme files with the CsEabled fix and is the only method that actually works!

    correct. but, the reg files sometimes get wiped out when MS has a major update.

    Sadly this does not work for a lot of us. I had 1 power option show up and then 5 minutes later it was gone again.
