My Windows 10 Version 20H2 will not install the update 0x80004005.

I have tried countless times to install the 20H2 update to no avail.  I have even gone so far as to create a bootable USB drive with the 20H2 on it.  Got a message that I needed to start windows regularly and then click on the install.exe file on the USB drive. Got to 31% and then it froze.  Most of the other times I tried to do the update, it got to 61% before freezing.  Once it got to 91%.  I'm going to try one more time after uninstalling my antivirus software to see what happens.  Looks like I'm going to have to do a fresh install and then re-install all my software.  How depressing.  This is like a throwback to Windows XP.  You would think that Microsoft with all its brain power would be able to solve this problem with 20H2 that so many people are having.  I have tried to delete the $Windows.~BT folder that was created with the initial upgrade attempt but it requires special authorization other than administrative authorization to delete it.

Hi, I'm going to try uninstalling the AV software too, as this is the only thing left to try. 

I have searched the Web and I can see ASUS have now put something on their site that covers the standard install approaches

including the Microsoft assistance method.  Clearly more and more people are having issues. 

I have installed on 2 HP laptops A celeron 1tb drive, An HP i7 with 1tb deice plus 256sd. Also an Acer all in One i3 with 1tb drive

but now i'm trying this on two Asus TP200SA 32gb netbooks that I managed to get to 1909 but they just won't install 20H2

goes through the update process until it says applying and sticks a 0 percent and does not apply  .  Give up after a few hours and the system backs itself out back to 1909.

After a gazillion attempts at trying to first update to 20H2 and then a full install of 20H2, I deleted my McAffee Antivirus software, disabled my audio devices and turned my bluetooth off.  I then restarted my computer (HP laptop) in safe mode with network support and clicked on the install.exe file that was on my windows 10 20H2 installation usb drive that I downloaded. Turns out you can't install windows 10 in safe mode.  By the way, the network support only works with a wired network connection, not wireless in safe mode.  I restarted my computer in regular mode and clicked on the install.exe file and about 5 hours later, windows has been updated to 20H2. BTW, I had selected to save all my data/personal files and programs during the install. My next step would have been to do a clean install and then re-install all my programs and restore all of my personal files.  I'm glad I didn't have to do that.  The only problem I am having now is reinstalling my McAffee Security Suite that is free through ATT. Hopefully solving that problem will be easier.

Thankyou for the Good News on your install and advice on removing the Anti Virus.

I removed the Anti Virus completely and tried the Assisted install and once again it gets to the point where the install reboots and comes up with the message " We are working on updates" this may take some time , do not turn you computer off.  0% .

No different from previous attempts it stays on 0% for hours and it gets nowhere. 

Seems so convincing up until this phase but then it Lies when it says we are are working on updates. 

Now tried many times and it always gets to this point and does not finish working on updates and the count never moves pass 0% 

Anyway else had this behaviour and gotten around out , if so please a clue on how to make it really work on the updates would be good

I tried running the installer with the link provided. However, it wanted to completely reset my computer to default settings, removing all programs and files. It did not allow me to select an option to keep the files, as the other two options were grayed out. Due to this, I did not continue with the installation, as I really don't want to go through the trouble of reinstalling everything on my PC.
