Have tried 3 times. Message on update page says it did not install and I may try again. This is not a new install. Have been using for couple of years.

I agree! I am also at my wits end with this. Microsoft needs to come up with a fix. I am beginning to think Apple for my next computer.

    :(

Out of the box, new laptop.  Have the same problem.  I debated buying a Mac or PC, thought "surely Microsoft would never ignore a defect for this long"  Boy, was I wrong.  Should have opted for the Mac.

And Gates wants us to trust him on a pandemic when he couldn't even protect Windows 95 from viruses.

This is around my 4th time trying to get my Win 10 update.  Last time it hung at 99% installed (yeah, really?) overnight & throughout the next day.  Disabling Symantec protection hasn't worked and other folks in our corporate deployment are having issues too. This is on Win 10 Pro version 1909 build 18363.1440 on my work laptop. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

My Win 10 Home running personal desktop was updated to 20H2 in about 15 minutes. Nothing special done to prep it. I selected the optional Windows Update to install it, rebooted the desktop, logged on, ran Winver and it shows 20H2 installed.

Thanks Wolfseven. I have turned off all evidence of any backup activity.

Used this link and it looks like it's finally downloaded and installed - took several hours but so far looks good! https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

This was the only way I was able to get it to work.  No errors or issues.
