After posting my rant yesterday, I FINALLY found a legit solution. Keep searching specifically for 20H2 installer, and you will find a file that claims to FIX the install. I wish I could remember the file's name but was so reived when it actually worked, I deleted it after and forgot its name. But there IS hope, seek that Microsoft installer for it, and be prepared to be down a while while it checks the machine and installs the version update.
My Windows 10 Version 20H2 will not install the update 0x80004005.
Have tried 3 times. Message on update page says it did not install and I may try again. This is not a new install. Have been using for couple of years.

2021-03-15T19:26:12+00:00 No luck for me with this fix. I did just update the BIOS and all the drivers but one. Still no luck on 20H2 installing, but it does now auto-revert when 20H2 fails to install vs just going to blue screen and a manual effort to go to 1909 version of Windows. My NVIDIA driver will not update without giving me the blue screen; maybe there is some relation...?
I have reinstalled windows 3 times from scratch from the original windows version through every update. Works fine until getting to 20H2.

2021-03-15T21:16:27+00:00 I am encouraged that so many people have the same problem as me.
My PC is 18 months old and continues to work really well, apart from the fact that it won't install this particular update. I guess we'll have to wait for another major update that will hopefully jump past 20H2 but I agree it's sad that so many people have this problem, and that Microsoft are not responding.
