My Windows 10 Version 20H2 will not install the update 0x80004005.

I found a Microsoft bat file called WUReset2.0.bat on their web site.  Download it and right click and run as administrator.  I will run in a command prompt (Dos Box).  Then you reboot and this fixed my problem with installs.  Also make sure you check in services that your secondary login, storage service, and windows update are set to automatic.  I found out if these three services are not set to automatic, it affects Microsoft Store downloads and Adobe Photoshop updates also.  I just downloaded and installed update KB6003173 on Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit on a Dell desktop and Dell Laptop with no problems.

It is as if the download is corrupt. Tried many times through standard install. Cleared the download repository and tried again

tried the USB install method and get exactly same problem. Message reads applying  changes and not to turn the machine off

but left it for many hours and it never gets past 0%.  When you do stop the install the recovery is quick so it does look like it installed 0%.

I have now installed this update on several other laptops but it will not install on this netbook which will remain on 1909 until Microsoft create a new OS that will  install. 

Microsoft keep insisting on new releases and ask us to comply to remain supported but then create an uninstallable update that won't install leaving us unsupported !! 1909 was a struggle to install on a low end netbook but now Microsoft has made something that just does not work.

Anyone had problems with the 20H2 update sitting at 0% when applying changes but then found how to get the changes applied ?

Been trying to fix this all day, it's ridiculous. I've tried everything and been speaking to Microsoft support for over 3 hours now as I couldn't find a method and still no fix

Tried installing 20H2 on a laptop with low storage , tried standard install and tried manual using USB several times but the install gets to the same place says it's updating but stays on 0% for hours and gets nowhere , eventually have to stop the install and let it back itself out.

Checked system files all OK and the update says the machine is compatible with the update. 

I have installed this on other laptops and they have worked , but this low spec netbook just won't install the update even manually with the help of a USB thumbdrive. Struggled on previous major releases but they did install. 20H2 says it's compatible but something is clearly preventing the install .

With so many people reporting issues this needs work to support low spec netbooks. How about splitting the release into chunks that will make the New OS ?

I have two identical laptops.  One updated and the other did not.  I have used all of the fixes suggested but no luck after months of trying.  Everywhere I turn and try is a deadend.  I have spent hours trying to resolve the problem but I can't put my finger on the actual problem since so much is not seen during an update.  Now I have about 10 updates in the pending and the fail.  I'm not sure even a reinstall would fix the problem.  It's just interesting  that Microsoft has not issued something since there are so many people with this issue.
