My Windows 10 Version 20H2 will not install the update 0x80004005.

Have tried 3 times. Message on update page says it did not install and I may try again. This is not a new install. Have been using for couple of years.

    Good Evening,

    Thankyou for the Good News on your install and advice on removing the Anti Virus.

    I removed the Anti Virus completely and tried the Assisted install and once again it gets to the point where the install reboots and comes up with the message " We are working on updates" this may take some time , do not turn you computer off.  0% .

    No different from previous attempts it stays on 0% for hours and it gets nowhere. 

    Seems so convincing up until this phase but then it Lies when it says we are are working on updates. 

    Now tried many times and it always gets to this point and does not finish working on updates and the count never moves pass 0% 

    Anyway else had this behaviour and gotten around out , if so please a clue on how to make it really work on the updates would be good

    Hi SM, As I see from the diskpart, volume 7 is what would have the EFI files.

    Volume 7     F                NTFS   Partition    517 MB  Healthy    Hidden  

    If you want to skip all of this, the easier route is a reinstallation of Windows. It would cost you the installed apps though.

    Thanks SM. The problem is a bit bigger than we think. Apparently, the boot configuration data is corrupt.

    In my experience, Rebuilding BCD using  Command line from a USB installationn often helps.

    Please boot to advanced startup options from a USB drive
