Have tried 3 times. Message on update page says it did not install and I may try again. This is not a new install. Have been using for couple of years.

I have even tried a repair reinstall of windows using the 202H version and the results are always the same it take over an hour to attempt the update then fails.  If I don't pause updates, it keeps trying over and over and over.  It has rendered my computer USELESS unless I turn off all updates.  This has been going on for weeks.  MICROSOFT WHERE IS THE FIX????  ARE YOU OUT THERE?  ARE YOU LISTENING?  Get your act together.

I HAVE BEEN STARING AT this FOR NINE DAYS NOW AND HAVE tried everything. The Cumulative Update just SITS there on 20%.........Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm being BLOCKED by the 20H2 Update to receive OTHER Updates I NEED.😡

OH yeah, forgot about THIS. When the 20H2 DID Update TWELVE DAYS ago..........you ready ???........It did a RESET of my Computer and LOST A  L  L   Files,Music,Downloaded Programs, ETCETCETC and all I got was a " Welcome to Windows". All was erased. I had to go UNINSTALL and STOMP on the Update to RETRIEVE my Computer back...........

    Thanks for your solution!!!

I have just successfully upgraded!! I went around in circles for days trying different solutions.

Only one suggestion, to get this to work I had to boot from a recovery disk, otherwise the BCD file is locked by the OS.

    Thanks again!

Add me to the list of people who cannot get 2004 or 20H2 to install without error.  I'm on try number 50-something,   I have a similar post on the community and haven't found anything that resolves the issue either,

Let us check the Installation log to find why the update failed. Please share the logs as mentioned in this article. You should use a File sharing service like Onedrive or Media Fire to upload files and share the link in the next reply.

Like everyone else, no luck updating the 20H2.  Yes I have disabled/uninstalled all 3rd party apps, turned off all security, etc., no luck.  Same as version 2004, never had any luck.  The only way I could update to the 1909 is to start from scratch, what a pain!!!
