Great to see another seafaring brethren. I couldn't quite resolve your uniform cover's insignia - Coast Guard? I see you were a Warrant Officer - not sure of the grade. I was a Naval Aviator for 8 years. Counting my trainers, I typed in 5 different AC. My primary role was reconnaissance. The best plane I ever flew was the North American Vigilante RA-5C. Like all of us, I'm aging up too. I retired from active flying 15 years ago. I too enjoy playing this sim, especially when you can complete your trip.

The abbreviation I used in my post - AV - references my anti-virus protection. I would not normally suggest to anyone they disable their computer's protection, but in this context I did that for a specific download. Here's a way to see your computer's update status: press the Windows key in the lower left corner of your keyboard - the key with the Windows symbol on it; when the Search field opens at the bottom left, type "winver" - without the quotes. When the status of your windows OS displays, make sure you have the latest version indicated: 21H1. If 21H1 is not indicated, then you have to download that update from Microsoft. Once you've established that you have 21H1 installed, follow the other directions I outlined above in my earlier post to download Flight Simulator. Good luck, Robert. Let us know how you make out. Thank you. It just took weaving around inside the mechanics of the program to hit all the right buttons! Most of us that "play" MSFS will at one time or another be back on these forums. Based on the mostly minor feature updates to the new, about to be distro'd Windows 11 O/S, I don't expect there to be any interference from this new O/S. Post soon.

I have spent 2 days just trying to get it to download. It trickles in at about 1 MB/sec no matter what "fixes" I try. Seriously considering asking for a refund, because this is unacceptable. (I have a Google Fiber internet connection, symmetric gigabit.)

Hi Greg,

I bought the MS FS 2020 pc-version and installed all 10 dvd's.

My first problem: when I started the game, it just quit.

I re-installed it and then it said that I could only start in safe mode.

When I started in safe mode, it quit again.

After my last installation (5th or 6th time), my code to redeem was not correct: already in use.

What should I do?

Hi Bart. My name is Neal. I've posted a few comments above. As far as your situation however, I would suggest you contact XBOX technical support (you can still get a LIVE agent on the phone in the XBOX group), and relate your issue. I would also try to get a new digital key from the XBOX group. If you're not happy with all the work you have to do to install 10 DVDs for FS, then see if they will offer you a digital download version. Just to give you a heads-up, I was originally having non-start issues with my digital download version until I chose to download a fresh copy through XBOX. I've had no problems running the sim ever since, I also just upgraded to Windows 11 and it runs perfectly. As an alternative to MSFS, you might want to consider looking into the XPlane 11 sim. I purchased the DVD set which consists of 8 DVD's. I like having hard copies of programs. Hope you find a solution. Take care,
