Great to see another seafaring brethren. I couldn't quite resolve your uniform cover's insignia - Coast Guard? I see you were a Warrant Officer - not sure of the grade. I was a Naval Aviator for 8 years. Counting my trainers, I typed in 5 different AC. My primary role was reconnaissance. The best plane I ever flew was the North American Vigilante RA-5C. Like all of us, I'm aging up too. I retired from active flying 15 years ago. I too enjoy playing this sim, especially when you can complete your trip.

The abbreviation I used in my post - AV - references my anti-virus protection. I would not normally suggest to anyone they disable their computer's protection, but in this context I did that for a specific download. Here's a way to see your computer's update status: press the Windows key in the lower left corner of your keyboard - the key with the Windows symbol on it; when the Search field opens at the bottom left, type "winver" - without the quotes. When the status of your windows OS displays, make sure you have the latest version indicated: 21H1. If 21H1 is not indicated, then you have to download that update from Microsoft. Once you've established that you have 21H1 installed, follow the other directions I outlined above in my earlier post to download Flight Simulator. Good luck, Robert. Let us know how you make out.     My computer keeps crashing every time I get ready for take off on the runway and go to release the brake,,, I have to restart each time... Does anyone out there know how to resolve this issue.

    I, unfortunately, came from X-PLANE 11. Every week, I would get worked over by VR cursor problems. There one day, missing the next.

    I was hoping for a flight simulator WITHOUT so many issues. And here we are...

    Good Day,

    I too have had my Flight Simulator 2020 stop working...   I have tried many times to get help from anyone at Microsoft and never an answer on how to get their product to run again. Now after two months I have gone to X-Plane 11. the graphics are not as good but it runs all the time with no issues. I am back in the air with X-Plane 11.

    Another unhappy former MS Flight Simulator 2020.

    Microsoft. Osobo and Perfect Flight have created beautiful work, but I don't think all of them are on the same page. I have experienced multiple glitches when running FS2020. I too bought the Deluxe edition. My program was working fine until I opened it last evening. After the Osobo splash screen closed, I received the pop-up warning message that my license could not be "authenticated". When I clicked Next, a totally new screen splashed across my monitor and it was completely foreign to me. It showed a single-engine yellow light plane near the ground with a rhinoceros heading in the screen-right direction. The next screen that appeared showed a FS promo screen with the title of STANDARD, and below that the phrase "Mandatory Update" The "update?" was 40.23GiB in size, so being alerted by the command of "mandatory", I went for it. What I actually wound up doing was installing the STANDARD edition of the game and when I went into Content Manager, I had updates for Deluxe. All the while everywhere it showed "Owned". When I first bought and installed FS2020, it carried over my player name from FSX which is linked to my Microsoft account. After I downloaded the STANDARD edition, my player name had been changed to 5HRS. Meanwhile, my original player name displayed in the upper-right corner. I have a lot of phone calling to do so I better get to it. Thanks for taking the time to read my rant. NealO
