Current status as of October 20, 2020
Windows 10, version 20H2 is available for users with devices running Windows 10, versions 1903 and higher who manually seek to “Check for updates” via Windows Update. The recommended servicing status is Semi-Annual Channel.

If it helps the link https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 to the UK Media Creation Tool shows the October 2020 update, aka version 2009. It is ready for public release if you want it.
Personally I would wait for it to appear via windows update, which is what I an doing. It's not appeared yet and I'm in no rush. I do the same with all version updates.

Help me please.
Since it was not offered through W.U. yet, I just made the ISO using MediaCreationTool20H2.exe and updated 6 different machines to Version 20H2 Build 19042.572.
No problems found so far except for one that I already had with 19041.572.
There is still a problem ejecting external drives either external SATA or USB, caused by windows defender MsMpEng.exe.
I don't understand why windows defender does not release the external drives when they need to be ejected.
For now, as a workaround, I had to add the external drives to the exclusion list to avoid the ejection block. In my case the external drive has the letter E:, this can vary in different machines or if there is more than one external drive.

"Unable to complete updates. Undoing changes"
I have continually received this message after several attempts of installing the new updates.
The updates complete and get past a 95% install, then abruptly stop. The above message appears and a complete uninstall begins.
