I have now fixed 2018 and 2019, ready to install 2020 but don't want to roll back Windows updates.
Has anyone here successfully installed 2020 with the current Windows update version??

This is Windows 10.
I had been using the 2019 H&R Block business software just fine. Last time used was July 15, 2020.
Went to open to prepare Sub-S return on Sept 12 and kept getting an error message saying it could not open. I tried having Geek Squad look at it. They spent about 2 1/2 hours running diagnostics and could not figure it out. I had another IT pro look at it for about 3 hours, ran diagnostics and the best he could figure was that it was a Microsoft update that somehow corrupted the ordering sequence for the program to open. All of my clients are locked up now. The other thing is that it also corrupted the 2018 program so I cannot access those files either.
Tried downloading a new 2019 Block program. Overwrote the old one. Still same problem. Loaded the software from the disc. Same problem.
Trying to get through to Block is a joke. You will spend hours on the phone.
Any thoughts?

MORE PROBLEMS! I thought I had fixed 2019 yesterday, but now it won't load. No error message, just a spinning blue wheel forever. Program will not complete loading. What now??
Just to clarify... now that I have made the changes so that 2019 and 2018 work... is it ok to now install my 2020 software without having to roll back Windows?
Thanks.
Yes. See my prior post.

YES. Installed all Windows updates as of 1/27/21 and HRB Business 2020 successfully installed.
Hi, This morning, as a test, I installed H&R Block Business 2020 on a fresh Windows 10 Version 20H2 build (OS Version 19042.746).
Then I am up and running.
For 2018 & 2019 I would try the compatibility option used by NVSteve:
I am NOT sure if using compatibility mode affects use of the H&R software or not, but here's how to use it for any older program...
Find the program file (the .exe the shortcut points to) in Windows Explorer. You can right-click a shortcut to see the path of this file.
Right-click on the file name, select Properties (you may or may not have to confirm Administrator mode), click Compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibilitymode" and select Windows version. From this dialogue box, you can also run the Compatibility Troubleshooter to see if an old program can be run in Windows 10. GOOD LUCK!
