"Paged Fault in Nonpaged area" after Windows Update

Was this a Windows Update or the latest Version Upgrade?

Whatever we find to fix it, make sure System Restore is turned on so you can more easily get back before it crashes and then hide the Update with the Hide Updates tool:

Are you trying to run the Repair (Version) Upgrade to latest version from the media?

If you can get it installed it will bring along all of the Updates with it and you'll have the latest version by the most stable method.

1. Run the Hardware Troubleshooter:

Type CMD in Start Search, run Command Prompt as Administrator,

Copy and paste into box:

4. Update your drivers from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

6. If nothing else helps you can run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. But remember that in Windows 10 everything depends upon the quality of the install, and Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. At this stage I've given up on repairing. I had restore on, it did not work. I did try to repair it did not work.

I'm simply trying to get a clean install done at this point. So from my top message, this is what I'm seeing:

"I then put in the new drive and started the install. I did the install from a fresh set of data off a USB thumb drive. Things start off fine but as soon as I get around the point where I enter my Microsoft account info it crashes. Sometimes before I get it entered, sometimes shortly after, but it always crashes. 

At this stage I tried uninstalling several things. Unplugged most everything except a monitor. Did not start taking out graphics card or sound card yet. But nothing helped. Did several installs here.

Next I decided to do an offline install and unhooked my network cable and did another Windows install fully offline. It ran to completion with no errors. I did several reboots and it worked just fine. I then connected my Microsoft account and went into windows update and started it and it crashed within 30 seconds and is BSODing again."

For problems like you're having, you can also make it a diagnostic install, where after Windows is installed you check for the behavior before anything else is installed. Then check again after each group of Updates is installed, each program and app install, each settings change with no modifications at all. This can help pinpoint what exactly is causing tthe problem.

Plus let's do an even cleaner install where the drive is wiped and new media is created to rule out any contamination:

2. Make sure all other drives and peripherals are unplugged. 3. Create the latest Windows 10 Installation Media by installing Media Creation Tool and following the directions here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... If you're using another PC to do this uncheck the box for Recommended Settings to choose the exact version and bit rate for the target PC only.

5. If the media won't boot you may need to enter BIOS/UEFI Setup (pressing key given in chart in link above) to turn off Fast Boot or Fast Startup first. If you can start Windows enter UEFI firmware here: http://www.isunshare.com/windows-password/four-...
6. The media may also be bad, so confirm it boots and queues up per these steps in another PC, or else recreate it. You can also try a DVD, or the alternate download site from MS TechBench here: https://tb.rg-adguard.net/public.php. 7. Choose the boot device as a UEFI device if offered, on first screen press Shift + F10 to open a Command Prompt, type the following commands, each followed by Enter key:

DISKPART

LIST DISK

SEL DIS # (replace # with the disk # of the Windows disk from list in previous command)

CLEAN

EXIT

8. Close Command Box, on second screen choose Install Now, then Custom Install, then at the drive selection screen choose Unallocated Space, click Next to let it create needed partitions and start install - this makes it foolproof.
9. Make sure to follow the setup steps in the first link tutorial to complete your install. Drivers are important enough that those steps are printed in red.

You will get and keep the best possible install to the exact extent you stick with the steps, tools and methods in the first linked tutorial. It's a better install than any amount of money could buy and a great learning experience that will make you the master of your PC.
