Why is there a debug file on my computer and how to I fix it

In the debug file it says [1010/132558.157:ERROR:directory_reader_win.cc(43)] FindFirstFile: The system cannot find the path specified. (0x3)

    Everybody prodding Microsoft about this, please read the last couple pages.  This is almost certainly an issue with **Chromium**, the open source engine that powers Chrome (and the new Edge, and Opera, and Brave, and...) and therefore not something that Microsoft can fix themselves.

    I filed this bug on the Chromium tracker. If you want to get this fixed, go star it, which should help it get more attention from the Chromium team.

    I have same problem. However, my debug file is created when I open multiple PDF files in Microsoft Edge.

    The Chromium issue has been marked as resolved, as of 2 November:  "This should be fixed in 88.0.4302.0." I believe Chrome (the Google-branded browser you very likely use), Edge, VSCode, Roblox, and probably everything you actually use, will take months to see this fix.

    Many of the applications mentioned elsewhere in this thread build on Electron (which itself builds on Chromium) -- I just checked their release history, and a few days ago they released a new major version that builds on Chromium 87 (which still has the debug.log issue). I'm not intimately familiar with the project but a quick glance at their changelog suggests that each major version of Electron stays with one major version of Chromium, and they seem to release major versions about once per quarter. So, unless I'm missing something, until February or March, Electron will ship built on a buggy Chromium.

    I have the same issue. Uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling did not help.

    I use a kind of chrome browser called Brave browser it is basically chrome
