Windows update is stuck at 61%

Hello,

I am trying to update windows to version 20H2, however, the installation it's stuck at 61%.

What I tried:

1) I tried running this in administrator command prompt:

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

2) I tried updating windows in safe mode,

**3)**I tried disabling every non Microsoft service in msconfig

**4)**I tried updating using the windows 10 update assistant

Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Same failure at 61%. Tried multiple times

    Actually.......I will thank you now instead of later.  I struggled for days to get it past 61% using every technique I found (dreading the thought of reinstalling Windows) and this worked wonderfully.

    What was the driver version that you installed to get it to work?  And was it from Lenovo site or Conexant or Windows Update?  Windows Update says I have the latest but still getting stuck at 61%.  Tried the uninstall driver/remove software and group policy setting to prevent installing drivers that match its Hardware ID and still getting stuck at 61%

    Finally I got a working solution.

    I experienced the same problem stuck at 61%, and not even removing the conexan audio drivers worked.

    I found the next answer also from Microsoft support where they give a link to the Microsoft MCT tool, instead of using the update from the settings panel:

    This update when smooth, although it took long to complete.

    Just a heads up - I had to deactivate updates for 7 days and restart my computer because the update somehow was running in the background.
    But then it worked as it should.
