Random Freeze and Unresponsiveness [Windows 10 20H2]

I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop. 

I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.

Please, send help.

    I have managed to last a whole 24hrs with no freeze for the first time in a week! As well as the SSD change, I did several more changes, suggested by forums. But I can't say which one fixed it.

    1 turned off Link State power management under PCI Express section of same advanced power options

    2 switched virtual memory from auto to manual, upper limit 8192Mb (recommended is 1.5x RAM size, which would have been 12288 for me)

    3 used Driver Talent to check for outdated drivers. It showed WIFI adapter and audio chip needing update. Ignored demand for money and went to Intel and Realtek for latest drivers. Only audio was updated.

    Thanks Jonathan I just tried it, will let you know if it works. I just completely reset my laptop, updated all the drivers from the manufacturer and it still froze. I have my fingers crossed that this will work!

    I have tried everything I did notice that there seems to be 2 Windows software on the computer and it seems that there both the same but I do not know how to delete one of them. and now it will not turn on at all even with a rescue USB it just goes to a black screen.

    You have an SSD, I see.

    I had exactly this, after an update to Win10 21H1. Not crashes but total freezes, sometimes when idle, other times in the middle of a Teams call.

    Got so bad it smashed the HD boot files and I had to repair from a Win10 installation disk.

    None of the software or hardware checks found anything. However, I found that the power saving settings had changed, to power down the disk when idle, which makes no sense with an SSD. You find that setting in Control Panel, Power Options, then in the poeer plan you use, Advanced Power Settings. Under hard disk, set the two timees to 0 mins (= never).
