I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop.
I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
Please, send help.

My latest experiment is to uninstall two Windows updates dated 2021-6 KB4023057 and KB5003637, because the issue started after they were installed. You also have to pause updates for as long as you can (30days). Since then, no freezes, but early days ...
I keep windows 10 from auto-updating by using this:
Winaero tweaker.
They also have a bunch of other apps to keep companies like Microsoft from screwing up your computer.

2021-07-03T20:15:03+00:00 Normally only the copy of Windows installed in C:\windows\ will be active. If you can't even boot from a USB stick that implies a hardware failure. Did you see the boot messages from your hardware as it started? I downloaded Windows 10 installation media to a fresh 32GB USB stick and that booted (slowly). I first had to go into the BIOS settings and move the USB boot to the top of the boot order.
