I have this issue with a Toshiba (Dynabook) Portégé R830 which was originally Win7 and upgraded to Win10 last year. No problems at all until May updates, when suddenly had random freezes 2 or 3 times a day. Only option each time was to force a shutdown with the power button.
One of the freezes smashed the disk boot area and it then refused to boot up (no operating system found). Recovered using installation media recovery tools on a USB stick (downloadable from Windows web site). Replaced the SSD and copied over the image, but the freezes continued.
Tried all the suggested fixes, including uninstalling May updates. Nothing helped.
SOLVED by reinstalling Windows from same USB stick. You lose all installed programs, but luckily I keep all data on D drive, so no loss of files. Slowly reinstalling several years' worth of apps, but no freezes now for a few days.
