I formatted my computer. I'm now on Windows 10 1909. The random black screen or issue still remain. I'm tired of all this. I'm starting to look at any possible hardware failures.
Random Freeze and Unresponsiveness [Windows 10 20H2]
I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop.
I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
Please, send help.

2021-03-13T07:25:50+00:00 Glad it's working out for you. The problem with 2004 for me was the issues were a lot worse. I would experience the random black screen or freezing issue 7-8 times a day. With 20H2, it would happen 1-2 times a day for me. While it's not as bad, it's still very annoying. Thanks for the update tho.
Sure no problem, any way you can roll back to 1909? Both 1909 and 2004 were stable for me.

2021-03-13T03:01:53+00:00 Having same problem. System had been rock solid stable with Win10 version 2004, installed 20H2 update and the next morning I walked into my machine having completely locked up. Nothing helpful in the system logs to indicate the cause. I let it go and 2 weeks later, same thing. Hard locked while the system was idle overnight - nothing in the system logs. I just rolled back to version 2004 today, so we'll see if that fixes the issue or not.
Just providing an update here, SO FAR, it's been stable again since rolling back to version 2004. Now it's only been like 12 days so that's not a huge sample size, but no signs of any issues since the rollback. I'd recommend some other folks try rolling back to 2004 also and see if the issue goes away.
Just another update here as it's been another 12 days (24 in total) since I rolled back to version 2004 - zero crashes or hangups since, so I will absolutely avoid the 20H2 update moving forward. May even skip the 21H1 update as well...Microsoft really needs to work on their QA.
