Random Freeze and Unresponsiveness [Windows 10 20H2]

I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop. 

I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.

Please, send help.

    Update - since I disabled the Intel(R) C-STATE tech’ options in my bios I have not had a single freeze, I have installed all the updates and seems stable. I have started loading software back

    I don't know which solution you are calling BS, but I haven't seen anyone in this thread claim this is all about hardware. Like you I have swapped HDs and RAM, which changed nothing. But a clean reinstall of Win10 21H1 has absolutely resolved the freezing issue, provided I don't install a Toshiba power settings utility, except now for an occasional freeze as it starts to resume from sleep, which makes me suspect there's something fundamental in the Windows disk handler that's flakey.

    This solution is a standard bs solution that solves nothing. I have the same issue, it been going on since the update. And through other updates as well.. On 7 different PC/laptops mind you. Some with mechanical hdd, some with ssd and one with nvme. All with some Nvidia GPU rangeing from RTX2080 Super to 2060 mobile, and one 1650 TI maxQ. Ram is not the issue, swapped all ram with completly new sticks.

    Have reinstalled windows 10 multiple times, refreseh image on multiple pc's, but same issue.

    So if you tell me it a hardware error again, you just could just aswell, shutdown this forum for bs solutions..

    In my case (Toshiba Portégé R830) the freezes returned after reinstalling manufacturer's Dynabook Settings app, which controls various BIOS, battery and system settings. Freezes stopped immediately I uninstalled it.

    Update - while not a fix I do now have a working laptop, still working on loading software but laptop has not frozen since I disabled the Intel(R) C-STATE tech’ options in my bios. Evidently the issue is associated with the c-state tech option as I have run the laptop over 24 hours and no freezing occurred. Before it would always freeze within 5 -20 minutes usually around 10 minutes. Previously I had tried everything on this thread, formatted my drives and downloaded a fresh version of windows 10 and it still froze. This is the first thing that has worked for me since I did the windows update.
