I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop.
I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
Please, send help.

I had 3 PCs in my company with this issue.
All of them showed problems with Skype in event viewer so I uninstalled it.
On two problem remaind and what I noticed Windows changed region. I set it back but it didn't help.
After that I could notice some Problems with domain. I readded those Machines to domain. One of them worked fine again.
And on the Last one user profile was corrupted after windows Update.
Update - since I disabled the Intel(R) C-STATE tech’ options in my bios I have not had a single freeze, I have installed all the updates and seems stable. I have started loading software back
This seems to be working for me as well. 48 hours without a single freeze. I am able to have my laptop running for 8 hours straight with no issue. Something that I couldn't do before. So, hopefully this issue is fixed for good!
Hi I have the same Problem with two PCs after installing 20H2.
After reboot everything works fine again but I couldn't find anything that helps.
Since some of you had luck with disabling the Intel(R) C-STATE could it be that windows is sending some wrong instructions to CPU making it not using all needed power. C-State is connected to resuming from sleep/hibernate. Probably that's why a lot of you guys had Problems with resuming after sleep.

In my case the system is also now stable, except that occasionally resume from sleep fails (hangs in the familiar way, but very early in the wake process, before the Windows whirly displays). Microsoft have just released a patch update, aimed at Game Mode performance issues, but which targets some power management problems introduced in an April 2021 update. They also say 21H2 update will contain a permanent fix, but this is not due out until later in the year.
Could be a link to your problems and mine, since both seem related to power management...
