Cumulative updates - October 2020

Whatever you did I just want to THANK YOU ALL you for fixing the keyboard issues after the update before this one. I like so many have been working from home and I for one love it. But when the keyboard started missing stokes and lagging. I was miserable. Never had this problem before and it did not sit well with me. I tried everything rolling back, reinstalling Win10. Nothing helped I mean nothing. And I was dreading this update I was dreading having to proof everything I typed. I was dreading having to come in a hour early just to map my work drive because it wouldn't take my PW (you can not see what you put in for security reasons) Then as I moped to my desk LO' AND BEHOLD

I didn't have to keep trying to log in. I could type with my usual confidence!!!

I am happy again so I want to THANK YOU ALL.

Thanks I've already followed all this step.

The problem is the missing package in my error refer to version prior my current version.

So I tried to install 10.0.19041.450 for example but it said I can't install it because I'm on a more recent version.

If I try to install it's what I have:

Appl: Higher version found for package: Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd6419041.450.1.7, superseded. (Version on system:Package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd6419041.508.1.9)

it's like if the new installer ignoring the fact I'm already on version 508

If these fail to correct the issue then determine use the following steps:

1. Create a new folder named as C:\temp\cab
2. Download update package KBxxxxxxx from http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx to C:\temp
3. Run command line below to extract .msu file for getting .cab file.
4. expand -F:* C:\temp{.msu file name with extension} C:\temp\cab
5. Run DISM command line below to add .cab file.
6. Dism /online /add-package /packagepath:c:\temp\cab{.cab file with extension}

Thank you for another set of solutions. Unfortunately, it also didn't work.

Using this method, I can successfully ran 'restorehealth':

then, I started my computer and ran Windows Update, but the result was the same. Then, when I ran 'restorehealth' again, I saw this familiar error message:

So, it seems like Windows Update destroyed the windows file. I tried the above 2 times (update by Windows Update and *.msu file) and ended up with the same result.

Maybe it is due to some other issues, such as conflict of drivers?

I'm trying to install KB4579311

and I have this error 0x800f0831

I was up to date and it's the only patch not working.

I tried to see if I had a troubleshoot, disabled my proxy, restart service update, install the release manually by downloading the msi etc.. everything that was described here :

But it's still failing.

It seems that the installer can't find some package but because I'm already in .508 it doesn't make sense.

Did someone have the same issue and solve it ?
