I've been having crash issues for months now with no solution. I've been able to narrow it down to a windows issue but no solution seems to be available.

At random points during gaming (COD Warzone) the video card driver stops working and then immediately recovers. I get a black screen for around 5-10 seconds and that causes my game to crash. It is extremely frustrating.

I have done clean installs of Windows 10 64bit, tested with both NVidia and AMD GPU's, various video card drivers (up to 1 year old), and various other checks and setting changes.

I'm hoping that someone can please respond to help me figure out what is causing this issue because it is extremely frustrating.

Hey everyone, 

I have finally fixed this issue fixed on my PC. I'm so damn happy 😅

Changing my input from DisplayPort to HDMI resolved it. This fixes the crashing completely, even with two sticks of memory in dual-channel mode at full speed 3200Mhz.

This got me curious, since I saw that using HDMI limits my refresh rate to 100Hz. So, I switched back to DisplayPort but forced it to run at 120Hz instead of the full 144Hz. This also runs flawlessly with dual-channel memory and IMO confirms that 144Hz (combined with certain memory configurations) is somehow the causing the crashes.

I've ordered a new DisplayPort cable to see if it resolves the issue at 144Hz, but even if it doesn't I'll be happy with 120Hz since the 5600XT rarely gets above 120 FPS in games I play at 1440p anyway!

EDIT: Sorry to hear about your new issue Tyler. I am on the latest Window 10 update and AMD drivers (I now have the full AMD Overlay etc installed) and have not run into that problem.

EDIT 2: New DisplayPort cable has the exact same issue at 144Hz. I can live with 120Hz so it's all good and no more crashes :)

    yup, true. So my game crashed today, with AMD Overlay, Instant Replay, Recording OFF. But this time I had Dev Error 5573 and NO recordings in Event Viewer. AMD Software didn't want to report any crash also. Since I had always Dev Error 6068 and a related event in Event Viewer, maybe this is another problem now.

    There's one YT video where the guy is telling me to change my operator in Warzone to a non-related Cold War operator. I don't think that this is something which helps but at this point there are a few option left to fix this fricking prob.

    EDIT: Dev Error 6068 means to this topic that my issue is "solved". I need to wait for another error like this, where my driver is stopping working. I'll come back when this is the case.

    I have the same exact problem here. I actually recently bought this computer two weeks ago from bestbuy (cyberpower)

    -Specs-

    CPU- AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

    RAM- 16GB

    GPU- AMD Radeon 5700xt

       It usually crashes when gaming between 5 to 15min. My screen goes black and I loose audio from my whole computer which then I have no other choice but to restart. 

       The weird thing is tho that It never happens again after I restart my computer (until I go to bed and come back the next morning)

    I have an LG ultrawide monitor 2560x1080 75hz

    I was reading and saw that maybe it could be narrowed down by peripherals idk..

    Already tried all the driver uninstalls and re-installs and the issue still persists.

    Your problem doesn't manifest as most of us; I believe the majority here gets a black screen, with audio still active (I can even still chat with teammates in Overwatch until I click the game's crash window's button).

    It really sucks that your new computer suffers such problem. Welcome to the family I guess.

    Hopefully, us all together we might be able to find the source of the issue, and eventually a fix.

    In your Event Log, is there another error, warning or critical problem around the time you crash happens besides amdkmdag?

    Also update for everyone: Besides my first crash the day after the format that was likely linked to my headset, I haven't had any black screen, artefact or other shenanigans so far.

    Today I played 3 times: 2 hours, 30 minutes and an hour, all smooth sailing.

    My USB HDD is still unplugged, same for keyboard's usb hub and rgb mousepad.

    And I still haven't reinstalled Steam and Epic Game Launcher.

    Tomorrow I will connect my backup hdd and test stability for a couple of days, hopefully it will hold.

    The one thing I've learned from trying to fix this is that a few hours of crashless gameplay means almosy nothing, as the problem can be infrequent. My dreams have been crushed so many times thinking I finally fixed it...Excited to hear your next update though!
