Update 20H2 won't install

Hello!

I noticed my pc needed to update, and clicked update and restart (for whatever reason, update and shutdown wasn't an option, just sleep, shutdown, or update and restart). Part of the way through the update my computer blue screened and restarted. After this, it rolled back what it had installed. When I got back into windows, update 20H2 had not installed, and I noticed that another update, KB4580980, was needed. When I attempted to install, it ran into errors. I restarted my computer, and attempted to install again, and this time despite not showing any errors, after restarting as requested, no update was applied, though update KB4580980 had installed. This time I tried to uninstall any updates I'd made today, but could only remove KB4580980. After restarting, it still won't update, and now KB4580980 won't install either.

I don't want to do any formats to my computer, because re-installing all my apps is annoying, and if a reset that doesn't delete my files doesn't work then I'll have to buy an external hard-drive to backup my data and do a complete format, which I'd also like to avoid.

Anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks for your help.

Try updating to version 20H2 using the Media Creation tool and if it fails let us know.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is through the Media creation tool or ISO file.

Please download Media Creation Tool from the link below and select Upgrade this PC at the first screen.

    loaded, BUT, wouldn't open  Auto Fix didn't help it at all.

    Windows 10 update 202H will not update for me. I have troubleshooted all the steps. I have gotten into contact with Microsoft Customer support all afternoon. I've been on the line with two technical support technicians from Microsoft who took over my PC remotely and went through all kinds of steps ISO installation, the whole works! Still to no avail! I have a ton of space of my C drive. I don't have anything hooked up externally. I disabled my antivirus, install didn't work! I uninstalled my antivirus software and it still didn't work! Clean boot, new drivers, deletion of temporary files. Nothing worked! Thank you Microsoft! I guess when my version of 1909 is no longer supported and my computer starts running slow I will have to buy a whole new PC! Thanks alot! My error code is 0xC1900101 - 0x20017.

    I have spent 10's of hours trying to update this IPC3 compulab computer (only a few months old). I've tried every solution I've found . It's as if it can't access the C: folders needed.  I can use the command screen and follow instructions there. All work except for the catroot2 which responds 'access denied' to all commands.  When I try to load some updates manually and then the ISO, it says this program cannot be installed on your PC... What????

    When I manually coped files to the storage disk, I got a memory management 'code' error, other times a system management 'code', the same.  There is plenty of room on the C:  drive even though the User/Public folder has some files (that cannot be deleted!)  

    I am at my wits end, trying to do a new re-install, upgrade, troubleshoot, etc. and NOTHING works.

    I've tried everything in the whole of this thread - and more - and NOTHING has worked:

    "Stop Code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    What failed? aksfridge.sys 0xC1900101-04000D"

    Also:

    "Installation failed at SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during MIGRATE_DATAOPERATION."

    Why should I have to spend hours doing a clean install of Windows and then ALL the rest of my software, wasting me hours/days of my time?

    I find it appalling that Microsoft will not continue to support a version of Windows which they cannot successfully update.
