IMPORTANT

Windows 10, version 1809, will reach end of service on November 10, 2020 for devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions. These devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10.

IMPORTANT

Windows 10, version 1903 will reach end of servicing on December 8, 2020. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10. If you want to update to Windows 10, version 1909, you must use the Enablement Package KB4517245 (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. Thanks again mrdbeta:   TBH:   I'm still stuck on getting the 16 gb. 3 pack USB Flash Drive Packaging OPEN!  Y'know the hard plastic protective casing they come in?  It may be easier to get into Fort Knox-- (this is where over half our country's gold reserves are kept if you're wondering WTH I'm talking about.) I know you live half a world away from me.

I do have all my important things backed up to external Hard Drive, but now there's something else called Etcher I need to find out about?? This in addition to Media Creation tool, Rufus KBs, LMNOP's, , blah blah blah. You say I may use my android phone,  Linux computer or Rufus to download the ISO file.  I  would have no idea how to get it onto my android phone. I do not have Linux.   I'm clueless-- as you can well tell.

Can I not just use my desktop to get the ISO onto the flash drive?? I have about 8 USB ports.  Some are 3.0, but the only flash drives I could find are USB 2.0,  which I have and will be slower I know.   MUST I TOTALLY FORMAT MY COMPUTER?????? Oy. I'd lose some programs that may not work anymore if I reinstalled them.  I'm needing to get a few real important things done on the computer in the next few days, so I may not attempt to 'nuke' my machine until late Saturday or Sunday, if at all.  The more I read about these updates the less I want to do it.  I know you get very frustrated with Windows as well as with all of us asking you question after question.  Also, you are much more knowledgeable than I am. You are very patient with us and very helpful.

I just feel like chewing the plug off the computer cord and be done!

I need a step tutorial.  In searching for that....  again, one site says do "this" and another site says do"that".  Confusing the living **** out of me.  No worries, I put in the asterisks.   Thanks again for the information mrdbeta. I'm sure I'll see you soon when I mess up something on my computer.
