IMPORTANT

Windows 10, version 1809, will reach end of service on November 10, 2020 for devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions. These devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10.

IMPORTANT

Windows 10, version 1903 will reach end of servicing on December 8, 2020. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10. If you want to update to Windows 10, version 1909, you must use the Enablement Package KB4517245 (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. For more information, see Windows 10, version 1909 delivery options.

Post-update ruination for me = a networked (ethernet connection to router) printer that my Surface Pro can no longer "see". The updated Surface Pro tells me the printer is "offline". The non-updated Lenovo (Windows 10) prints to the "offline" printer without difficulty, as does the iPad -- even after it updated last night.

Went thru all recommended steps per HP to no avail - including updating a driver using the iPad. Went thru the printer "offline" tools on Windows help pages... most seem to assume that the printer is offline to all computers, not just the one with the recent update. No help. Uninstalled and then reinstalled the printer. Not really sure what to do next. I'm not "techie" and would love to be able to recover the 2+ lost hours of time working above my head to try to solve this.

I'm (sadly) hopeful that others are in the same circumstance as I, if only to leverage attention to this on the part of Microsoft.

    Frustrating!
