Cumulative updates - November 2020

Those are optional updates that are not going to be pushed to machines.  Thus many may not see them installed.

What antivirus are you using?  Sometimes a/v will hold files open and Windows won't be able to access the files and thus causes a "blank" profile.

Today my Surface Pro did an auto update. After the update I noticed features in the settings not working. I rebooted and now I can only get a start screen but when I attempt to log in the screen goes black.  I attempted to restart 3 times as was suggested online with no success. I was about to get an About screen by pressing the on and volume up button.  

Help is advising me to purchase service as the warranty is expired, but why should I pay for service when the update crashed my surface?

I see I am not the only person with update issues. Please advise.

This is a summary of the cumulative updates released on November 10th for all the supported consumer releases of Windows 10.

1. Windows 10 version 2004 and version 20H2 - KB4586781, Build 19041 and 19042.630
2. Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 - KB4586786, Build 18362.1198 and 18363.1198
3. Windows 10 1809 - KB4586793, Build  17763.1577

Windows 10, version 1809, will reach end of service on November 10, 2020 for devices running Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro for Workstation, and IoT Core editions. These devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10.

IMPORTANT  

Windows 10, version 1903 will reach end of servicing on December 8, 2020. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends that you update to the latest version of Windows 10. If you want to update to Windows 10, version 1909, you must use the Enablement Package KB4517245 (EKB). Using the EKB makes updating faster and easier and requires a single restart. For more information, see Windows 10, version 1909 delivery options.

Having upgraded W10 on 15th Oct with KB 4580419; KB4586864 and KB 4586781, my Acer crashed. I eventually managed to remove them only to have MS do an automatic update so the system crashed again. I couldn't get beyond the initial startup screen- keyboard not responding!

Tried removing them, autoupdate added KB457931 ; KB4578968. Still having problems! What is going on?? 64bit Acer
