Bluetooth mouse freezes intermittently since the May Windows 10 (ver. 2004) update

Ever since this update my Bluetooth mouse continues to freeze for a few seconds intermittently. I own a Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse and

Microsoft Modern Bluetooth Mouse and the problem exists with both. Tried a Logitech Pebble and again, the same issue. I've tried the troubleshooter

  • it solves nothing. Tried to update drivers - nothing. Restarting Bluetooth - doesn't work.

No matter what attempts to resolve this problem I have discovered, they have all failed.

Can someone help me with this?

This is a summary of the Potential solutions I found in this thread. I am not sure which one would work the best or work at all:

DISABLE BLUETOOTH POWER SAVE

Press Windows + X and select Device Manager

There you will find the Bluetooth adapter

Right click the adapter and select Properties

Uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power"

Click Ok

MOUSE REGISTRY HACK

Add the following keys at this location: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0026\5&2816b067&0&10\Device Parameters

"DeviceSelectiveSuspended"=dword:00000000

"SelectiveSuspendEnabled"=dword:00000000

"SelectiveSuspendSupported"=dword:00000000

ENABLE MOUSE POINTER TRAILS

Go to Settings > Mouse

Click "Additional Mouse Options"

Click the "Pointer Options" tab in the resulting dialog box

Check the "Display Pointer Trails" box, you may also want to set the slider to short

Click Ok

DISABLE ENHANCE POINTER PRECISION

Go to Settings > Mouse.

Click the "Additional Mouse Options" option

Click the "Pointer Options" tab in the resulting dialog box

Uncheck the "Enhance pointer precision" box

Click Ok

SCREEN & SLEEP OPTIONS

Press Windows + X and select Power Options

Set the power option to NEVER for screen and sleep

    I have the same issue as others are reporting some key information:

    • I am using a Logitech M720 mouse and K850 keyboard (which both support multi-device switching)
    • I have a desktop PC that is connected as PC 1 and a laptop that is connected as PC 2 for both devices. I am not using the Logitech dongle and both devices are connected via bluetooth.
    • Up until last month, switch between PCs and using the devices work absolutely fine.
    • Recently, on the laptop, the bluetooth drivers seem to crash and then reboot giving a cycle of 10 seconds of use... 5 seconds of crashed drivers and reboot and then 10 seconds of use etc.
    • On my Desktop PC, the peripherals are still working fine with 0 issue.
    • I have done all the usual stuff of replacing batteries, reinstalling drivers, reverting drivers etc etc.

    If I had to guess, the driver crash could happen with any bluetooth device but I don't have another device I can try.

    Intel Bluetooth driver: 21.110.0.3

    I've got the same issue for about four days. The situation worsened from yesterday, as the mouth and keyboard froze for about a few seconds before I could use them again.

    I use a Logitech Pebble (M350) and a Keychron K4 keyboard. My Bluetooth adapter is an integrated wireless/wifi and Bluetooth adapter from Intel. Up until about 4 days ago, everything was fine. I remember that my laptop got an update around the same time, and I suspected it caused it.

    I've tried everything, including uninstall/reinstall drivers, disconnect and reconnect with my devices, make changes to the registry, power management but none of that work. I did, however, find out one thing that's interesting this morning. I got my wired mouse out and connected my Keychron K4 with wire. For some reason, when I changed the connection on Keychron K4 back to Bluetooth while keeping my wired mouse on, the keyboard worked as usual. However, when I put Logitec Pebble back to Bluetooth connection, the same issue resurfaced, and I could not get them to work together. In the end, I had to find a USB receiver inside Logitech Pebble and use that as a temporary fix for this issue.

    I think the last update might break something on the Bluetooth driver, causing the Bluetooth adapter to connect with only one device at any time. If there's more than one device connected simultaneously, the devices will collide with each other, and the Bluetooth adapter can not do anything about it. I hope that this issue will be fixed soon.

    I'm experiencing the same issue, my mouse and keyboard are Microsoft.

    The Bluetooth works, freeze for a while, and after some minutes, back to work again.

    I made all the changes mentioned in several forums, but no way to work again.
