Nothing changed.- This problem is the same with Edge and some other applications.- Efficiency mode is greyed out for the entire application. Only certain sub-processes of chrome are in efficiency mode. The only difference between yesterday and today, is that efficiency mode is active non-stop. I do not want efficiency mode running at all for google chrome as it is the main browser I use for work and school.

Hello. My work computer started doing the same thing, slow as molasses. Went to task manager and saw the efficiency mode on chrome and teams. I turned it off in Chrome settings, closed the Chrome browser and it came back on.

Spot On! That fixed the issue for me.

No such checkbox in my Control Panel

Yea, I have Windows 11, you can go to task manager and right click on the app that is running in efficiency mode, and turn it off. But if you have several processes running under chrome, expand it and make sure it turned off all of them, I have them had it run in Chrome, Outlook and WebEx and Teams. All work apps. Funny the IT Manager didn’t know that. lol. That’s 40+ years in IT and 20 years in engineering, I didn’t even know it. I need a life. lol. Thank you for replying.
