Nothing changed.- This problem is the same with Edge and some other applications.- Efficiency mode is greyed out for the entire application. Only certain sub-processes of chrome are in efficiency mode. The only difference between yesterday and today, is that efficiency mode is active non-stop. I do not want efficiency mode running at all for google chrome as it is the main browser I use for work and school.

Same issue here. Chrome loves to hang and it seems to happen whenever Windows puts specific tab processes into 'energy efficiency mode'. Firefox doesn't have the issue.

Guys, I disabled the below options in Chrome Settings after which I do not face any lag even though I can see the efficiency mode in Task manager running for Chrome. It had fixed my slowness or freeze issues in Chrome.

How to disable efficiency mode in task manager? Windows efficiency mode is making apps like Google Chrome unusable.
