That's a great theory, however, Edge is doing the exact same thing. Granted it is Chromium-based, but still.

I just ran into this for the first time tonight. At first, I tried the instructions for turning it off for the individual app - it didn't start with Chrome, but with my genealogy program! When I'm doing research, it's not unusual for me to have a dozen programs open as well as a couple of dozen browser windows. Before I finished reading the first article, the stupid app grabbed Chrome! I now have both apps in efficiency hell. My biggest problem is that the option to turn the stupid thing off is greyed out everywhere. There is absolutely no place that I have the option to turn it off for anything. I didn't want Win 11, but getting a new laptop, there wasn't really a choice.

It's a Windows 11 issue, happens with me on any browser, Chrome, Firefox etc. It isn't distinguishing a particular browser brand.

It's a Windows 11 issue, happens with me on any browser, Chrome, Firefox etc. It isn't distinguishing a particular browser brand.
