Task manager on my windows desktop says that efficiency mode is active for several but not all sub-processes of google chrome and I believe that is the reason for the drop in performance. Only certain sub-processes of chrome are in efficiency mode. The only difference between yesterday and today, is that efficiency mode is active non-stop. I do not want efficiency mode running at all for google chrome as it is the main browser I use for work and school.

Now it is defaulting to my internal CPU GPU. and the 3D graphics effects such as google earth is slow as integrated CPU GPU is slow. Otherwise now computer works.... Microsoft has something broken. Just use Brave. Until the Google Chrome team modifies Chrome it is going to continue to behave this way. Brave browser is built on the same Chromium engine as Chrome and behaves just the same. Add-ons work the same, it is just the same for all intents and purposes. And it is fast. I had used it before for a long time before trying Chrome. I just updated to Windows 11 about 3 weeks ago. I am not sure when Chrome started making the calls to the Windows EcoQOS features but it has been hanging for me. I have been back on Brave for 2.5 days solidly and there have been no issues. Brave does not make those system calls to Windows EcoQOS. When you look at Brave in task manager there are no green leafs under the parent brave.exe or brave subprocesses. So all good.

In my workflow I leave the browser running perpetually with many tabs going for different pieces of work and only restart during an O/S reboot. I have no time or patience to restart and reload and reset context. Anyways, will see what comes from the Chrome devs if anything at some point.
