Xbox App keeps asking me to download Gaming Services

Praise be lord! I had Gaming Services uninstalled, restarted the PC, renamed the folder (couldn't remove it due to lack of rights like the poster said). After renaming it to "Fu****gSh*t" out of frustration i opened Xbox app and it created new XboxGames or whatever it's called on the C drive. Everything seems to be working so far.

I have been plagued by this issue for a year or so now, on and off. The nuclear option has always worked for me. You may have already tried it, but I know how painful the issue can be, so I'll tell you exactly what I do in case it helps.

It's tedious, and usually takes 5-10 mins, so I wouldn't call it a "fix" - it's more of a painfully slow workaround; one that should cause Microsoft tremendous shame.

1. Uninstall the App
2. Open a Powershell Admin prompt, and run these commands: a) get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers b) get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxApp | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
3. Restart your computer (not sure if it matters, but I have "Fast Startup" disabled, so if this doesn't work for you the first time, make sure that is disabled and try again).
4. Install the Xbox App. It "should" work this time.

PS. Lately, I've had to do this literally every time I want to game - it works the 1st time after I do this, but if I restart/shutdown my computer, it's broken again, and I have to repeat the entire process!

If you search for the game in the Microsoft Store, you can download it there. When I did this, it immediately showed all my previously downloaded titles on the left side, where they were grayed out before. I think that this is just a bug in Game Pass. It happens to me periodically, and I've found that this is the best fix or remedy for the situation.

I just got Game Pass a few days ago and haven't been able to play it once because every single time I hit on Install a screen telling me to Download Gaming Services keeps popping up even though I've already installed it numerous times. I'm turning to this because I have no idea what to do, I've already tried a bunch of different suggestions from people such as: Repairing and Reseting all the apps, I've tried to uninstall and install with Powershell, I've tried to update through the windows store, I've updated everything on Windows, I tried going into the registry and I deleted the GamingServices and GamingServices.net but Nothing works at all, I've completely given up on this, I feel scammed because I just got Game Pass and I haven't been to play a single game.

One weird thing I noticed and I don't know if this is normal is that when I go over to my account settings on the Xbox App on the segment where it says "GameInstall Options" I get some weird error that says "There was a problem loading installation locations. Try Again" But it never gives me that chance to change anything.

GUYS I HAVE THE FINAL SOLUTION.

for repair this **** you have to do the next steps: Go to config and Repair and restore Xbox, Xbox game bar and Xbox live

the next step: put in the searcher: registry editor and search: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SYSTEM - CURRENTCONTROLSET- SERVICES. and there you have to find GamingServices and gamingservicesnet . delete this folders. Then restart your pc. After you have to look where is your xboxgames folder. mine is on C:XboxGames. IMPORTANT: YOU COULDN'T DELETE THIS FOLDER OR CUT. SO WHAT U HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE THE NAME FOR ANYTHING ELSE AND THEN CREATE A NEW FOLDER WITH THE NAME :XboxGames.

After the following steps you can open your Xbox and reinstalate everything. It should work without problems. I spent like 3 days to make it work so i hope i help all of you.

Can confirm this works on Win10!
Tried everything from Powershell command lines to uninstalling/reinstalling xbox app, gaming services etc, removing registeries and so on for 2 days.
Just do this guide in this order and all should be good to go.
