I just got Game Pass a few days ago and haven't been able to play it once because every single time I hit on Install a screen telling me to Download Gaming Services keeps popping up even though I've already installed it numerous times. I'm turning to this because I have no idea what to do, I've already tried a bunch of different suggestions from people such as: Repairing and Reseting all the apps, I've tried to uninstall and install with Powershell, I've tried to update through the windows store, I've updated everything on Windows, I tried going into the registry and I deleted the GamingServices and GamingServices.net but Nothing works at all, I've completely given up on this, I feel scammed because I just got Game Pass and I haven't been to play a single game.
One weird thing I noticed and I don't know if this is normal is that when I go over to my account settings on the Xbox App on the segment where it says "GameInstall Options" I get some weird error that says "There was a problem loading installation locations. Try Again" But it never gives me that chance to change anything.

My main issue seems to be that Xbox game services wont start, doesnt matter if i uninstall the thing, it's just off. I can see it in services.msc. Apparently the only fix is to clean install windows, fortunately there's an option to keep my files.
MY FIX:
Open powershell as admin, run this:
get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
It uninstalls Gaming Services completely.
Then re-install, it will take a few minutes, then bam, games are available again. Just worked for me!
Hi all! I've finally found a solution that fixes the xbox game pass app! All you need to do is download to the windows media creation tool from MS, run it and select "update this pc" it will basically reinstall windows without removing any of your apps/settings etc. it will take a little time to run but after I ran it and rebooted my PC, I opened the game pass app up and all my games were detected again and I could run and download new games again! No errors or endless cycles of asking me to install Gaming Services it just works again! I'm not sure what caused the issue or why it happened in the first place, but this fix 100% worked for me so I would suggest you guys give it a go for yourself.
I'm running Win10Pro so I'm not sure if this works for Win11, just give it a try! I still can't believe a multi-billion dollar company like MS can't make a solid and stable app and one that once broken requires you to completely reset your PC for it to work again?!
This is ridiculous, I was literally just playing a game the other day and today nothing works... What changed? Just like other users above I tried using power shell commands to remove and reinstall gaming service. As well as as forcing ownership of the winapp folder to delete the remnants of the gaming service also delete any remnants of the registry keys. Initially this worked and I was able to download Atomic Heart then ran into another issue where it's saying it's not the full game... Tried following a guide where it says to restart Xbox app and the game, and now it doesn't detect the games even installed. Even though it clearly is and all the files are clearly still there. Now I'm back at square one saying it wants me to install game service again. Y'all have some broken **** software straight up. Get your s*** together Microsoft.. I'm literally on newest Windows 11 image. How can there be this much oversight. I'm not reformatting to use a service I'm paying you for. The gaming division of this OS dev team needs a 100x more attention than you guys give it. Also whoever's fault this is needs to be reprimanded and or fired, billion dollar company my ****. Free to play Chinese mobile games work better than this s***. And I swear if we get one more bot response from a incompetent Microsoft support rep. I'm unsubscribe to your damn service.
