Xbox App keeps asking me to download Gaming Services

I have the exact same issue! It had been working perfectly fine for weeks, all I did was upgrade my GPU and now have this issues even down to the; "There was a problem laoding installation locations. Try again"! It's so frustrating, like the other comments, I've tried every "fix" possible and nothing works! Every time I try to install a game I get directed to download 'Gaming Services' but it's already installed! I've done clean uninstalls, all the registery stuff, and all the Powershell commands and nothing! How can a multi-billion dollar company screw up somthing so trivial?! I've never had an issue with any other game service/launcher; EA, GOG, Epic, Ubisoft etc etc. Please Microsoft sort this absolute mess of an app out as I'm about to cancel my subscription, what's the point in paying for this if I can't install or play any games?! There's a reason this app has such poor reviews, it's a complete buggy mess.

Hi all, had this problem too and seemed to have found a fix at least for my case.

Go to add or remove programs, search for gaming services, go to advance options, press on terminate, then repair, then reset.

Do the same for the Xbox app, and Xbox live app.

Re open the Xbox app, log in and should it work.

@Update Guys I found solution that worked for me on Windows 10, not sure if it works on 11 as well.

1. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
2. Click "Download Now" and download MediaCreationTool22H2.
3. Run it as administrator and let it do his thing.
4. Check "Upgrade this PC now", click next and let him download and verify files. This can take a while depending on your internet connection.
5. Make sure it's "Keep Personal Files and Applications" and click Install. Now it will install windows but won't delete anything.

Now Gaming Services and Gaming Services Net both working and finally could install games.

Can you check the second picture I uploaded? You can see that there's nothing for me to choose, it doesn't let me change the location at all cause I can't click on anything.

I just got Game Pass a few days ago and haven't been able to play it once because every single time I hit on Install a screen telling me to Download Gaming Services keeps popping up even though I've already installed it numerous times. I'm turning to this because I have no idea what to do, I've already tried a bunch of different suggestions from people such as: Repairing and Reseting all the apps, I've tried to uninstall and install with Powershell, I've tried to update through the windows store, I've updated everything on Windows, I tried going into the registry and I deleted the GamingServices and GamingServices.net but Nothing works at all, I've completely given up on this, I feel scammed because I just got Game Pass and I haven't been to play a single game.

One weird thing I noticed and I don't know if this is normal is that when I go over to my account settings on the Xbox App on the segment where it says "GameInstall Options" I get some weird error that says "There was a problem loading installation locations. Try Again" But it never gives me that chance to change anything.

GUYS I HAVE THE FINAL SOLUTION.

for repair this **** you have to do the next steps: Go to config and Repair and restore Xbox, Xbox game bar and Xbox live

the next step: put in the searcher: registry editor and search: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SYSTEM - CURRENTCONTROLSET- SERVICES. and there you have to find GamingServices and gamingservicesnet . delete this folders. Then restart your pc. After you have to look where is your xboxgames folder. mine is on C:XboxGames. IMPORTANT: YOU COULDN'T DELETE THIS FOLDER OR CUT. SO WHAT U HAVE TO DO IS CHANGE THE NAME FOR ANYTHING ELSE AND THEN CREATE A NEW FOLDER WITH THE NAME :XboxGames.

After the following steps you can open your Xbox and reinstalate everything. It should work without problems. I spent like 3 days to make it work so i hope i help all of you.
