I am having the same issue with my family's Samsung phones. I loved this app and it always gave me peace of mind knowing where my kids were, and I no longer have that peace of mind. I've checked the settings on my kids phones and had my husband, who works in IT, look at it as well. Please fix this issue. It is now April and I have been dealing with this for a couple of months now.
Family Safety location tracking not working
Hello. I have two children with Android phones (Samsung S21's). We have used Microsoft Family Safety for a few years and location tracking has worked perfectly until a few weeks ago when it stopped updating their locations.
I looked at every setting on both their phones, making sure all of the recommended location settings, security settings, battery settings were correct. Still couldn't get their location which showed they were both "In the house" when they were actually at school.
I uninstalled the app from both phones and reinstalled it. I followed all of the security prompts for the recommended settings. Both phones started to report their location again.
However... one of my children is on a school trip. Their phone last reported in five hours ago from a service station 250 miles away. They are now at their destination, but the Microsoft Family Safety app still shows them where they were five hours ago (extremely worrying for a parent).
Looks like the probkem has happened again. This must be a Microsoft problem What are the chances of both my kids phones stopping reporting their location at exactly the same time?
Come on Microsoft please fix this. Our children are very important to us and the app is called Microsoft "Family Safety".

2023-04-02T02:38:54+00:00 It is April 1st and this issue is still an issue.
I went into Family Safety on my son's phone, selected the map, and it showed the correct location. If that is working, then something either in the app or with Microsoft services are not working.
I suppose the next move is to leave compliant in the Google Play Store, that seem to gets the attention of the developers..

Microsoft's take on this problem, "replace the app by calling a few times per day" is not a sufficient replacement. Their IT Support had been horrendous forever and they are known for responses like this... unfortunately, family safety was a great app for years but now it just takes up space on my phone as it doesn't work at all.. it's useless.

2023-04-01T16:53:34+00:00 Same here. Both kids have Samsung devices, A53 and A52. We have done everything to get it working again. No way. Absolutely annoying. My wife wants to switch from M$365 to Google family link, including cloud storage. Let's see if Microsoft is able to fix this by time. But I'm not positive. They didn't manage to fix that at least since 28 days, when my daughter was last seen on the map.
